At the Altar of Invincible Time

Students have undergone so many changing circumstances and ways of studying in the last two years. Some have adapted them so well in this ONLINE enchanting world full of resources, educational videos, ongoing conferences on the world wide web gaining and imbibing as much as they can. Even the leisure time has increased for them (for now they don't need to travel to their educational institutes) and they know how to make full use of this time. Life has taught them; one needs to make the full use of whatever circumstances one is left with.

Negative aspects have been much discussed about so far in all formal and informal platforms. The lack of warmth, sharing among the peer, learning and interacting face to face have a different sort of affect on human learning and cognitive behaviour. This article is about something else. The focus is not on some students who have observed the changing course of Time and learned to sail but this article is about those plentitude of learners who have lost their track, their path to learning and knowledge. They NEED a lighthouse to guide them their right way.

Learning a second language is difficult but not an impossible task. Language has to be made a part of life to attain a level of comfort with it. If one does not speak, listen, read and write a language, one's proficiency can not be determined. The saddest part of language learning in the educational institutes is that it is emphasized and mugged up to attain passing marks. Not many are bothered to work on teaching the integral part of language. Many students have already given up the ESSENTIAL element of dedication and sincerity required to learn a second language.

English in India has a long journey to claim its dominance. Hindi and other regional languages too are losing their hold of their formal use. How will we survive without languages? I wonder if these many students have asked themselves. I also strongly believe these many students have not lost their track but also their urge to improve, their desire to have a self talk. How will system help them in such a dismal situation?
