A Buddhist doctrine: an answer to the dilemma

Bhartiya Darshan Shastra/ Indian Philosophy has many theories and doctrines to answer the problems of human life but sadly we are so engrossed in technological advancements that we ignore reading the richly traditions of ancient Indian philosophy.
While dealing with the issue of stress/depression/ sorrows, my mentor, Prof. B.K.Kuthiala ji suggested me to look for a Buddhist doctrine of Dependent Origination. As an obedient pupil, I googled and searched youtube to know the detail of the principle.
Let us look more closely at the doctrine of "PRATEETYASMUTPAAD". As it is clear in the picture the word is a combination of two words DEPENDING and ORIGINATION. in Hindi it is explained: "ek par aashrit hokar doosrey ki utpati." Dependence on a reason leads to the ORIGINATION of some effect. Everything has a reason in the scheme of things. Lord Buddha analysed the reasons of sorrows in human life and came up with this doctrine. THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY OF EFFECT WITHOUT ANY REASON.
Without a potter, the origin of pot is impossible. Lord Buddha termed DESIRES as the chief cause of all human sorrows. If one gets rid of desires (that compel one to entangle into the quagmire of sorrows) one's life becomes ideal.
Is it really easy to kill desires, then?
Let us see this way:
1 We come to this life to suffer
2 Because of rebirth we come to this life
3 Because of the will to be born we undergo     rebirth
4 Because of mental clinging to the        world/Mayya, we had the will
5 Because of craving to attain sensory pleasures, we developed mental clinging.
6 Because of Sense-Experience, we have yearnings to experience pleasures
7 Because of Sense-Contact, we developed this urge to enjoy sense experience
8 Six Sense Organs are the reasons behind Sense Contact. One has inclination to sweets because of the taste of sweetness our sense attaches to the sweets
9 Because of Mind- Body Organism, one develops the consciousness in the womb of one's mother.Because of Impressions of Life, one gets conscious of Maya/worldly affairs.
10.  Lord Buddha regarded IGNORANCE as the chief reason of all causes in the world. It is the cause of sorrowful world.

We should attempt to lead a life of sunya
We cannot completely kill desires but we can surely get ourselves out of depression by stopping to think ourselves as victims. We are not sorry figures. We are beautiful creations of God. If we desired to have material objects, company of some people, power and fame and we do not get it; it does not mean an end to our life
We are meant for other things. Some things and some people can not define the course of our life

  1. Well expressed article. Just loved it..!

Only 'desires with ignorance' are the root cause of all agony and suffering of the world.

If one desires for love, happiness, compassion then world would be a much better place.

To attain the 'state of nothingness or samadhi' one needs lots of patience, pure desire and awakened consciousness.
