Love: Of Soulmates

I read Shashi Tharoor's tweet today explaining the shortest English word containing all 5 vowels, that is, 'Eunoia'. Knowing the meaning of this word, I was engulfed with so many thoughts. Eunoia means 'beautiful thinking; a well mind'. It connotes connectivity of minds and "a condition of receptivity." I have always pondered over the subsistence of Love and its forms. Love, for most of us, is a condition of being fascinated or committed to a person only. Love, for me, is the spontaneous pouring of tenderness from our souls. It is an emotion that lends charm and strength to souls. People may find it useless to talk about the love of souls in the modern tech-savvy world but at the end of the day, we need to inhale the soothing breeze of understanding,  compassion and virtue and ease the pain of frustrations, failures and unhealthy competitions of life. Parents' love is sublime. It is unconditioned. All the forms of love that do not put conditions and obliterate inhibitions stay forever. Having the feeling of camaraderie,  ignoring the fanatic divisions  of caste, colour, and creed, all of us can create a beautiful world of love- without expectations of getting something back, some short-termed gains- money, position and material gains. If they were all, millionaires would not have needed companions and would have lived all alone. If I love someone, on the condition, I should get it back, it is not an emotion but a bargain. Love demands investment but of empathy, feeling of oneness, warmth of devotion and passion of earnestness.

Rumi, the consummate philosopher, expressed the essence of life impeccably through his words of wisdom. His musings refine our life with pearls of knowledge, for instance:
"Silence is the sea,
and Speech is like the river.
The sea is seeking you:
don't seek the river
Don't turn your head away
from the signs offered by the sea."

We are so bound and eager to name all the forms of love. Love has to be elusive. It is free flowing between souls. If it is not so, it never approached you then. You have to walk towards love. We suddenly become judges of others' life, claiming and pronouncing too early. Let us look at Rumi's immaculate explication on love,
"Love is a mirror,
it reflects only your essence,
if you have the courage
to look in its face. "
There can be no last line on the nuances of love; it is eternal and perpetual. It remains when we are not even conscious of it.
